After a century of making southern Alberta home, people of Ukrainian descent are finally coming together for the first Ukrainian Festival in Calgary. Andrea Slobodian, director of marketing and promotions for the festival, says Ukrainians make up Calgary's sixth-largest ethnic group, with more than 76,000 people claiming descent in the 2006 census.
